Sumitomo offers a comprehensive range of automotive wires designed to meet the demanding requirements of modern vehicles, from conventional cars to EVs and hybrids. These wires are developed by Sumitomo Electric and Sumitomo Wiring Systems, both leaders in automotive electrical systems.
quick overview of Sumitomo Wires:
- Slim Electric Wires: Lightweight, space-saving wires for low-voltage circuits.
- Shielded Cables: Designed to block electromagnetic interference, ideal for control circuits and sensors.
- High-Voltage Wires: Used in hybrid and electric vehicles, offering excellent heat resistance and reliability.
- Aluminum Electric Wires: Replace copper to reduce weight and improve fuel efficiency, available in standard and high-strength variants.
- Heat-Resistant Wires: Withstand temperatures up to 150°C, using cross-linked insulation for durability.
- Specialty Wires: Such as ARX-9, which uses irradiated fluoroelastomer insulation for extreme heat resistance (up to 200°C), ideal for engine compartments.
These wires are engineered for compactness, weight reduction, and high-speed data transmission, aligning with the shift toward connected and electrified vehicles.
ARX-9
ARX-9 insulation material is irradiated cross-linked fluoroelastomer which has heat resistance of 200°C range.
Compared with PTFE and FEP insulated wire, ARX-9 has excellent flexibility. This wire is suitable for wiring in high temperature areas, such as engine compartments, headlights and automotive transmissions.
Sensor Cable
ABS sensor cable is made of copper alloy rope-lay stranded wire as conductors and irradiated cross-linked polyurethane as jacket material. This construction gives the cable high resistance to vibration and hot water. It has also strong protection against stones from the tires.
