Harness Tester
The 8100 is a practical and capable wire harness test system. Its small, compact units are non-intrusive to your space and can be expanded to accommodate the number of test points for your needs. Fast test setup and software-guided cable assembly make it easy learn and operate.
The 8100 replaces the CR Tester.
The 8100 low voltage tester is driven by the powerful Easy-Wire® software. It’s compact and flexible to integrate with your production process.
The system is expandable to 100,000 test points and capably represents and tests complex wire assemblies, including electrical components. The test system allows operators to view connector images with target pin locations during the assembly process or rework. Its compact size means it is non-intrusive at the workstation, can be mounted on the back of a harness board, or can be distributed with other 8100 units around the device to be tested.
Optional Digital IO, OPC UA, and an API allow the tester the flexibility to integrate with factory automation.
Compact & Expandable
Each unit accommodates up to 256 test points, expandable to 100,000 points with additional units. It’s small size makes it nonintrusive and easy to distribute around a larger device.
Capable Testing
Flexibly test assemblies with passive components such as resistors, diodes, capacitors. Capable of higher accuracy 4-wire Kelvin resistance measurements and custom measurements with Advance Instructions.
Operator Guidance
Graphical representations with visual and audio operator prompts simplify the build process and troubleshooting. Compatible with Cirris Smart-Lights®.
Resistance & Touch Probing
Probe can be used to identify points and make resistance measurements. Wrist strap allows finger-touch identification of test points.
Portability Option
Power for base unit is sourced from PC/USB connection allowing for mobility using laptop battery power if needed.
Easy-Wire® Software
Powerful software provides efficient test set-up and retrieval, operator access based on login, flexible test operation and reporting, and a test record archive.
Test Points
Up to 256 test points per base or expansion unit. Expandable up to 100,000 max test points. Expansion units may be distributed up to 200″ (60 m) from the base.

Each 8100 Expansion Unit provides 256 additional test points but must be connected to an 8100 test system that has an 8100 Base Unit connected to the operating PC.

Economized for low test point applications.
8100 Base Unit – 192 Test Points with digital IO (C8100-BU-IO)

Cirris Server (LANL-EW)
Provides a network database for all connector definitions and test programs. Strongly recommended to ensure compatibility between all test stations without importing and exporting. Additionally provides a centralized location for backup and test data access.
Advanced Test Instructions (AI-TESTER)
Provide full control over the measurement test voltage and current. Make isolated capacitance and resistance measurements between selected test points.
Cirris Tester Access API (CTA-EW)
Alternatively control the tester with a third part applications written in LabVIEW, Python, C, C#, C++ and Delphi.
OPC UA Server (OPC-EW)
Transmit tester status and test information in real time to other information systems or equipment.
8100 Performance Check Kit (PCHK-81)
Verify calibration with the performance check kit. The certificate of calibration included with a performance check kit is valid for two years.
